This is the recipe for the lemon tea I drink as a part of my morning ritual to get hydrated. It is refreshing round the year. In summer I reduce the temperature of the water and in winter I increase it for added comfort. Be careful not to use very hot or boiling water though. This will kill the Vitamin C in your lemon tea. Of the optional ingredients, I started with just salt and pepper but added the others as I went along. Since I use the same optional ingredients every day, I premix them and save them in a jar for ease of use every day. if you wish to do so, mix 3 tbsps of each optional ingredient, mix it with a sieve and save it in a jar. Alternatively, you could combine all ingredients in a large jar and shake the jar to mix them up.
Here is the recipe for 1 cup of lemon tea.
Basic ingredients:
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 cup of warm water
Optional ingredients:
- 1/8 tsp dry ginger powder
- 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/8 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/8 tsp black salt (or Himalayan pink salt)
Thank you! I’m not really a ‘tea’ or ‘coffee’ person. I usually drink Green tea at work. Lately, I have taken to enjoying a warm cup of Lemon tea in this lockdown. It’s so refreshing!
